Editorial Philosophy

How We Frame the Conversation

SortBoaTallyTrov was founded on a simple observation: modern travel publishing has become an arm of tourism board PR, celebrating aspirational glamour while neglecting the mundane financial arithmetic that dictates trip success.

1. No Manufactured Community Consensus

We do not fabricate fake reviews, artificial star ratings, or pretend forum post counters. We operate as an analytical review and reference hub where trade-offs are articulated plainly by independent researchers.

2. Complete Commercial Independence

We refuse affiliate booking kickbacks from hotel booking algorithms, flight aggregator commission cookies, or subsidized luxury press tours. When we examine a secondary airport or a municipal train connection, we assess it solely from the viewpoint of a self-funded traveler who must haul their own baggage.

3. Acknowledging That Different Travellers Value Different Compromises

There is no single "best" holiday. A solo traveler on a strict budget may cheerfully trade four hours on a slow regional train to save €45. A working couple with three days off may gladly pay a €120 premium to fly straight into a city-center runway. Our role is not to dictate choices, but to make the cost of those compromises completely transparent before payment cards are swiped.
